- Take advantage of the alumni network in DC. That's how I got my start. For me, I all began when I applied for the Emerson Fellowship (Emerson Fellowship). During the process, I met numerous Westminster Alums from DC, and I worked with them to find a summer internship in DC. And then I began my networking. That summer the DC Alums threw several gatherings for the interns (as they do every summer). From there, I stayed in touch with the ones I met (and they/we love hearing from the students so we will stay in touch with you.) Then when I was ready to move to DC, I contacted them about any questions I had (jobs, housing, how do I...) So, get in touch with the Alumni Center and the Career Services to find out who is in DC and how we can help you find your way out here too.
